Private Schools in Anantnag Warned Against Defying Government Orders
The Chief Education Officer of Anantnag district has issued a stern warning to all private schools in the district to strictly adhere to government orders and circulars regarding fee structures, common curriculum, and other activities.
In a recent notice, the official expressed concern over the non-compliance of some private schools with government directives. These schools have been accused of formulating their own bylaws that contradict government orders.
Key Guidelines to be Followed:
1. No Additional Fees: Private schools are prohibited from charging any additional fees, including admission fees or donations. Any fees collected contrary to government orders and the Right to Education Act 2009 must be refunded to parents.
2. No Book Sales: Private schools are not allowed to sell books or other materials to students through their tuck shops.
3. Common Curriculum: All private schools must follow the common curriculum as per the New Education Policy 2020.
4. Ban on Winter Coaching Classes: Private schools are strictly prohibited from conducting winter coaching classes on their premises.
The Chief Education Officer has emphasized that any school found violating these guidelines will face severe action, including the cancellation of recognition or affiliation.
