The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has granted approval for independent MP Rashid Engineer to be sworn in on July 5 in Parliament, subject to the condition that he refrains from engaging with the media. This decision comes as Er Rashid, who emerged victorious over his closest competitor, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, in the Baramulla Lok Sabha constituency, seeks interim bail or custody parole to fulfill his duties as a Member of Parliament.
According to news agency ANI, the Patiala House Court is set to issue an order on July 2 regarding this matter. The stipulation that Rashid Engineer must avoid media interactions underscores the sensitivity surrounding his case. The NIA’s consent paves the way for Er Rashid to take his oath as an MP, marking a significant development in his political journey.
