Chairperson of the Waqf Board in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Darakhshah Andrabi, took a proactive step today by visiting Barthana in Qamarwari, Srinagar to assess the status of unutilized Waqf land in the area.

Accompanied by revenue officials, Dr. Andrabi conducted an on-the-spot demarcation of the land, which had been neglected for several years, leading to partial encroachment by local residents.
During the inspection, Dr. Andrabi directed the authorities to take immediate measures to reclaim the encroached portions of the Waqf land and to devise a comprehensive plan for fencing the area once the demarcation process is finalized. This initiative aims to safeguard and preserve the valuable Waqf property for the benefit of the community.
