Anantnag, August 12th: The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign continues to gain traction in Anantnag district, with a range of activities organized today highlighting the collective efforts of government departments, educational institutions, and communities towards achieving a cleaner and more sustainable environment.

Launched by Honourable Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, the Swachhta Pakhwada is a two-week initiative aimed at fostering a sense of cleanliness and environmental responsibility among citizens. The campaign seeks to create lasting change through awareness and active participation in cleanliness drives and sustainable practices.

Today, Anantnag witnessed various departments contributing to the campaign’s goals. The Forest Range Kokernag collected an impressive 50 Kg of plastic waste during their Anti-polythene drive, showcasing their commitment to reducing environmental pollution. The School Education Department mobilized students, staff, and community volunteers to clean adopted water bodies, public parks, and heritage sites. The Department of Youth Services & Sports organized sports and cleanliness activities, promoting physical well-being and civic consciousness.

The Swachhta Pakhwada campaign has garnered widespread support, with participation from rural and urban areas, educational institutions, panchayats, municipalities, and government departments. Educational events and cleanliness drives have been instrumental in cultivating a culture of cleanliness among citizens.

As the Swachhta Pakhwada campaign progresses, citizens are encouraged to remain actively involved and uphold the principles of cleanliness and environmental stewardship in their daily lives.
